The history of the creation of Open Source Track, or, what happens when an entrepreneur and a musician are inspired by Ron Paul's message of freedom?

Politics doesn't normally inspire people to do great things, but after Israel Anderson and Marc Scibilia heard the message of genuine freedom and personal liberty from Presidential candidate Ron Paul, something magical began to form.

Israel Anderson says it best in his own words. He was managing Marc Scibilia as he wrote Hope Anthem, a very special song for this generation, and for the grassroots supporters of Ron Paul. "Well, I suggested to Marc that we give away Hope Anthem. These grass roots supporters of Ron Paul just wouldn't like someone making a dollar off of Dr. Paul's good name. Marc agreed and we gave the song away for free download and in the highest possible quality as well.

Then I got to thinking...what if we gave the entire song away, the lyrics, the music, guitar tabs, even the pre-mixed individual instrument tracks and give all those away free as well. Part of the idea was that we knew other musicians would start playing Marc's song, and Marc really liked the idea of that. Marc is a child prodigy in music and can play any instrument, in fact he played everything on Hope Anthem, but because he refuses to sign with a label, he has never broken out into the limelight. I knew that if we released all the bits and pieces to Hope Anthem, not only would it help musicians that are just starting out and learning to play, but it would help Marc's music become more widely recognized. Well Marc loved the idea and so we started to put everything together when I had another thought. Well heck, why just do this with Hope Anthem? Why not create a website where any artist can do the same thing and create something special the entire music industry can benefit from. And so Open Source Track was born.

You see, beginning musicians get incredible music they can play with and learn from. And the artist providing the music gets far wider recognition that he otherwise would, adding to greater notoriety and more album sales. It's a win/win/win/win/win/WIN situation. I mean no one loses here. Even the large labels like SONY BMG, as they get behind this and have their top artists release one track per CD as an OST, they show their customers that the big labels really do care about musicians and now they have a way to invest into budding musicians in a very real, practical way. And just look at the response we have had in such a short time. We are stunned.

We have no doubt that OST is soon going to be a de-facto standard in the music industry. You better have an OST track on your next CD or people might buy someone else's instead. Who would have thought that a politician could have inspired such a thing. And
check the guy out, he's THE MAN!"

Artists have been signing up and their songs will appear on the site over the next few weeks. Already Marc Scibilia's Hope Anthem OST is available. Submit your song now.
